These Terms & Conditions apply to your use of www.riselawfirm.com (the “Site”), the client portal operated by Rise Law Firm, PC at caseport.riselawfirm.com (the “Portal”), and text messages sent by Rise Law Firm, PC (“Rise Law Firm,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the Site or the Portal, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.<\/p>\n

No Attorney-Client Relationship; Not Legal Advice<\/h2>\n

The information on the Site is general information about the law and our firm. It is not legal advice, and it may not reflect the most recent developments in the law. Using the Site, submitting a consultation request, or contacting us by phone, email or text message does not create an attorney-client relationship. An attorney-client relationship is formed only when we agree in writing to represent you. Please do not send confidential or time-sensitive information until we have confirmed that we can represent you.<\/p>\n

Attorney Advertising<\/h2>\n

The Site may be considered attorney advertising under the rules of the State Bar of California. Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome, and every case is different.<\/p>\n

The Client Portal<\/h2>\n

The Portal is provided only to clients of Rise Law Firm and to people the firm has invited. You agree to keep your sign-in methods private, to use your own phone, computer, email and internet connection rather than those of an employer, and to tell us promptly if you believe someone else has used your account. Your communications with the firm through the Portal are confidential and may be protected by the attorney-client privilege.<\/p>\n

SMS Terms<\/h2>\n

Program description.<\/strong> Rise Law Firm sends text messages to its clients about their case and the client portal, including an invitation link to the portal, a notice when the firm has sent the client a new secure message, reminders when documents the firm requested are due, security notices about the client’s portal account, and one-time sign-in codes the client requests. Messages contain no case details and ask the client to sign in to the portal. We do not send marketing text messages to clients through the portal.<\/p>\n

How you agree.<\/strong> You agree to receive these text messages when you continue past the statement on the Portal’s sign-in or invitation page that says you agree to receive text messages from Rise Law Firm about your client portal. Agreeing to receive text messages is not a condition of our representing you; if you prefer not to receive texts, we will contact you by email or phone instead.<\/p>\n

Message frequency.<\/strong> Message frequency varies with the activity in your case.<\/p>\n

Costs.<\/strong> Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan.<\/p>\n

Opting out.<\/strong> You can stop text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message from us. We will send one message confirming that you have opted out, and no further text messages will be sent unless you agree again. If you opt out, you may still sign in to the Portal by other means, and we will contact you about your case by email or phone.<\/p>\n

Help.<\/strong> For help, reply HELP to any message from us, email clients@riselawfirm.com or call (310) 728-6588.<\/p>\n

Carriers.<\/strong> Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.<\/p>\n

Privacy.<\/strong> We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or your text-messaging consent with third parties for their marketing purposes. Our Privacy Policy, at https:\/\/www.riselawfirm.com\/privacy-policy\/<\/a>, describes how we handle your information.<\/p>\n

Use of the Site<\/h2>\n

You may view and print pages of the Site for your personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to use the Site or the Portal in any unlawful way, to attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of them, or to interfere with their operation. The content of the Site, including its text, graphics and logos, belongs to Rise Law Firm or its licensors and may not be copied or republished without our written permission.<\/p>\n

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rise Law Firm is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site or the Portal. Nothing in these Terms limits our professional obligations to our clients under the California Rules of Professional Conduct or any written agreement between you and the firm.<\/p>\n

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.<\/p>\n

Changes to These Terms<\/h2>\n

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated Terms on this page and change the effective date above.<\/p>\n
