West Hollywood Pays $500,000 to Settle City Hall Whistleblower Case

LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Times reported today on the City of West Hollywood’s settlement of Eliot Rushovich’s case on behalf of Ian Owens against the City.  The settlement resolves a case that was litigated heavily and covered extensively by the press.  The case involved claims of whistleblowing, retaliation and sexual harassment against City Councilmember John Duran and the City of West Hollywood.  The Los Angeles Times article, entitled "Former aide to West Hollywood councilman will receive $500,000 in lawsuit settlement", was published on February 22, 2016.
