Los Angeles Times: Reports on Former Metrolink Executive’s Whistleblower Retaliation Lawsuit
LOS ANGELES — Rise Law Firm’s whistleblower retaliation case on behalf of Donald Filippi, the former Chief Operating Officer of the Southern California Regional Rail Authority (SCRRA), which operates Metrolink, was featured in the Los Angeles Times article entitled “Fired Metrolink executive claims rail service endangered passengers with unsafe equipment.” The article was published on September 15, 2026, the same day the lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court. The complaint alleges that Mr. Filippi was terminated after repeatedly warning Metrolink leadership that aging locomotives and passenger cars posed safety risks to passengers, and asserts claims for whistleblower retaliation under California Labor Code sections 1102.5 and 6310.
